Lovely, yes... cows are pretty.
The leading lady of Denmark ? hmmm.
That could be Pia Kjærsgård, the leader of the nationalist People's Party. She has been real nasty to immigrants in general and Muslims in particular...but leading lady ? Not really.

Could it be our Queen ? We all honour her for the good job she's been doin, representing Denmark and our history. But she's too old for that red dress + she had absolutely no part in the cartoons. She let you down with "generalizing critical" ?
I don't think she has said 1 word in public about the cartoons...?..

Could it be Arla Foods ? the company that (no longer) sells dairy products in the ME ? Well, I guess you could call Arla a harlot (she's wearing a red dress) Arla has been trying real hard to get back into business. Much as I believe it's wrong to punish a cheese-company for the wrongdoings of a newspaper there is a certain irony: Arla has been very unpopular here in DK for a long time. It's a big company that has "eaten" many small dairies.

Or maybe it's the "holy cow" of export ? Like Danes = hindus, worship cows= money ? Why the red dress then ? Sadly, the boycott didn't shake our ecomomy, Arla suffered, yes. But not the country.

And there's something missing....I give up. It's hard to be offended when I don't understand the point. Maybe a Middle-easterner can see the connection. It's like the Danish cartoons: some of them make no sense to you but they do to me bcoz I know the background.

Ok, I give up, what's the joke ? What should I be offended about ?

oh....I forgot 1 point:

Is that what we are known for ? Milk and cheese ? I would rather we were known for being the country who gives aid to poor countries, each Danish persons gives more than any1 in the world.
http://www.cgdev.org/section/initiatives/_active/cdi/_country/denmark/

Or known as the country that rescued nearly _all_ it's Jews from the Holocaust.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rescue_of_the_Danish_Jews

Or known as the country that gave shelter to victims of the wars in Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Bosnia. These ppl are about 35 % of the Muslim ppl in DK today.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_Denmark

But I'm imperfect human :-)

I don't even know what country ur from: what I know of it may be different from what u think I know

Dear halalhippie: I didn't mean anything by this pic, I found it in this way and I just added these words, and I said I don't mean anyone or anything, excepting making joke and prove we can create jokes and we have sense of humors "nice or bad one", but I never and I will never call anyone "harlot" or any dirty word, if u noticed in my blog, I never used any nasty language even when I was really mad or sad by anyone. Even here, in my daily deal with others, I try to control my anger and curse only the Satan who try to push me to be evil to others.
As I noticed, u were really offended by this pic and words,,
I'm really really sorry if I did hurt u somehow. In fact, I decided to put this pic for a while and then delete it, delete the entire post, no matter there was reply from Danes or not, I told my friends I will keep it for a while, but then I really wanted to know what is ur opinion, is it offended? can u handle it?
In fact, I know how DK is great country, and I still like DK, but we should understand others and consider their feelings.

PS: I don't know this Pia…, whatever she is, I'm not that involve into local lives and events in Denmark, as to Arla foods, I don't even know what the products of Denmark "yea, i love cheese and dairy products, but i never knew that PUCK is Danish!! i never look at the productive country !!", and I don't know who is Arla and what they did in DK! (btw, u know ppl of ME didn't go into the boycott step to make others suffer, they tried to make u look and feel and see, otherwise i'm sure no one in DK could care about the whole case and try to open a peaceful dialogue to understand the other's feelings and thoughts!)
Queen Margaret, published a book "year before the offensive cartoons" and mentioned Islam in ugly way, as I read in English translation, what made me sad and upset that she generalized and talked about Islam, not the "unpleasant" type of people that disfigure Real Islam. this is what I said to JP newspaper in my e-mail, I told them about how I was disappointed by the queen before them and SOME unjust people of DK and west.

If u don't know what is missing, how can't I tell u so, and iam from gorgeous country, not perfect and yes, there is "unpleasant" type, but not that much as other countries, and I really really LOVE my country, and I opened new Blog about it, spectacular!
Anyway, If u wanna me to delete this post and the pic, I will gladly, I wanted to know the reaction only?? And not to hurt any one???
SORRY AGAIN

I'm still imperfect human :)

Please, don't EVER apologise for the cartoon! I am NOT offended ...only too stuppid tounderstnad what it is about :-)

Sadly it was the embassy burnings, not the boycott that made "us" understand what had been done.

The Queen made a book, yes, I read about it.. I will try to find out what she _really_ said.

U wrote "Well, Something missing…Hmmm…Yeah, Sure, The…….! HaHaHaHaHa" I didn't understand that, very confusing.

Again, don't remove it, don't let _anyone_ tell you what to write or not. Freedom of expression is important.

ok, I think I got it.... It's the Queen, right ? (I am not offended :-)

What can I say ? Every new year she makes a speech for the whole nation; she tells us to be tolerant. She's like an old aunt to all of us.

I read there were demonstators in Cairo with pictures of her as a cow. How can I be offended ? We make cartoons of her looking like an old bird. But we still love and respect her.

But ur right: before the cartoons she said in an interwiev about Islam:
(I will try to translate as best I can)

"It is impressing how some people can let religion fill their whole life: some Christians do that too
-- but it can be frightening too. "
"We - as Christians - (she's head of Danish church) most be tolerant for the right reasons: not because we don't care, but because we have beliefs of our own"
"We must show (and here comes a word that cannot translate into English it does not mean resistance or opposition but more like sharing wievs and discussing) to Muslims."

From what I read in the Danish article she talks about the "real Islam and the "unpleasant" type of people that disfigure real Islam"

And also I think she was talking about the Muslims in DK, not all over the world.

So "something missing" is her crown ?
Sorry to keep on talking about this pic. I really want to understand the feelings behind it.

Oh dear brother, my father always remind me over and over to be nice and kind, to treat who is older than me as my father or mother, and who is on my age as my brother or sister , and who is younger than me as my younger brother or younger sister, no matter who they are!!, and I can't take this advice from my head and I can't be evil and mean, I really don't feel happy to keep this pic and I'm not comfortable till I take it off. It's not about freedom of expression, bcos it's not my style to make such thing like that and i can express my opinions in a very polite way,, I'm not perfect and I did that becos I was a little bit mad and wanted to see how western can react to such thing, but still not reflect me and my behaviors.
Maybe one day, I will remove this milky lady and put another thing instead of it. Let me find a replacement subject :-)

Nope, i didn't mean the queen, it just came like that, i did find a pic for Mary with pretty RED DRESS, so i was afried to say she is Mary,,, and i don't know about cairo or egypt,,i didn't see this kind of imaging,

Please don't respect me for being older than u: I have done nothing to become so :-) Please don't take the pic down, you were more than "a bit mad" and I don't blame u.

But it's a good example, u "wanted to see how western can react to such thing" and as the only westerner, I am sorry I didn't understand the message and react so confused. It shows how I see things u don't see when we look at the same image. Just like the hijab on my blog. And even like the Mohammad cartoons.

Maybe most of the cartoon trouble (and trouble btwn the ME and the West) is misunderstanding ?

((Misunderstanding)) is the key point of the whole cases, people of the west don't have enough knowledge about ME and how people here look at some topics that in west can be normal,,
As for queen, I'm really confused, as I read in some websites, they said she talked in general and cursed Islam and abetment westerns to do something AGAINST Islam,, that what really hurt me, bcos I was in love with her so much, and if she meant only the "unpleasant" type that deface real Islam, I will be happy!! Bcos I'm really sick of these people who deface such perfect religion like Islam,, also I read that she asked Muslims of DK to be part of the country and learn the Danish language ,, (Well, I'm with her here, I hate to see Muslim communities in western countries close themselves in and don’t mingling in the societies,, so terrible to isolate yourself). If I did go to any western country even for short period of time, I will go directly to neighbors and invite them and make nice meetings with them and introduce myself and my culture to them,,, as one of my cousins did, she married and went with her husband to America for 4-6 years for his studies in university,, they invited their American neighbors and did nice meetings with them, my pretty cousin wore her pretty traditional colorful clothes "not Abaya and Shela , we have other more gorgeous clothes in my pretty country", they taught them about our country, our culture, our traditions, and invite them in Ramadan and Eids and so on,,, and they told them about Islam teachings and told them that we don't drink alcohol and wines, and we don't eat pigs. That's how we can share things with others, go out, talk, invite, increase their knowledge and our knowledge.

***

"We must show (and here comes a word that cannot translate into English it does not mean resistance or opposition but more like sharing views and discussing) to Muslims."
This is what has been translated as an inciting against Islam by her to the western world, that what I read and I made me really sad and upset, but few months ago, I found a blog with news about her and told us "Muslims" that the translation of her words was wrong and one of the Imams that can speak Danish and other languages said: they did wrong translation and the queen didn't say any wrong words about islam and she just asked to open a dialogue not a war!!! I was really confused and wished that this is the truth bcos I still love her. :^)

Misunderstandings, yes. I remember seeing the Egyptian ambassador, Ms. Mona Omar on TV, demanding that out PM Rasmussen "punish/do something about J-posten" I remember thinking: "but he has no power over a newspaper, he's not Mubarak"

And ur story about ur cousin is great: if only more ppl had the courage to share their culture w/others many misunderstandings would vanish.

I'm happy u got the other side of the story from a fellow Muslim

I like to see the freedom of speech in many places, but we should criticize politely, in my country, there is new addition to a local newspaper, this addition is so frank and put the stories and facts of our society which I don't even know about,, they are so frank and direct, but in the way that hurt no one, the say the truth in a good form that make all people make good reactions. Well, yes, in some Arab countries, there are some compression on the media especially if they want to criticize the governments and presidents.
That's what I meant by my cousin's story,,, they took the first step to invite their neighbors and share with them what they have and how lovely their culture is, so no need to let misunderstanding make it worse by keeping gaps between themselves.
