alright, so the guy found his truth. Good for him. In Canada - a Christian dominated country - a young man can find out for himself what befits him and tell his story on TV.

When a person - in any Muslim dominated country - can convert away from Islam to anything else, tell the story on TV, and not get bothered, I will be _really_ impressed.

What is your view on the penalty of apostasy ? Does a human have the right to punish another for changing religion ?

HalaHippie, what on earth is wrong with you.
you have to read carefully before writing anything.

anyhow, i think i mention my view about "apostasy" ,,,you have to read again in my old posts.

i believe we have the right to think and choose. we have the freedom that our religion granted it for us to think and find our own way.

have a nice day

Soory,,, i couldn't log in now,,, see you next time.

I think all Muslims should convert to Christianity on a Wednesday.

Then, on Thursday everyone should convert back to Islam.

After that, everyone won't have to worry about apostasy anymore, because you CAN'T kill everyone. That's just silly.

This way everyone can remain happy and be Muslim... and not worry about the threat of 'violence' or 'punishment'.

Would it make God angry... is the only other question. And if God is angry that people would do something to make peace and love in his name... then that's not a 'real' God.

But that's just my opinion. Don't listen to me. Because if I'm wrong... then everyone would just go to hell.

Oh, but Allah is merciful. So perhaps it's worth trying. Let's give it a try, shall we?

I've got to stop drinking so much coffee at night. The caffeine is making me jittery.

Hi there, Tristan, good to meet you again.

Does God really care what religion we follow as long as we are sincere ? He put us in the Gulf, the Americas or Scandinavia for a a purpose , didn't He ?

If your book is the Bible, sister Noor's is the Qu'ran and mine is the Secret Doctrine (or whatever), let's rise above them.

Halalhippie-

I was just being goofy.

But your question sort of gets at my point exactly. Does God really care what religion we practice as long as we surrender ourselves to Him fully?

I'd suppose not.

But should we care enough about God to practice the religion which is His true religion... I mean the one which executes His supreme law and puts us on the path of righteousness... and supposing that there is a religion out there more closely aligned with God's universal law than say others...

Then that IS a religion we should (as individuals) be concerned with.

My point being... I believe there are such religions which are closer to God's design than mans. Compare Scientology to Christianity, or Wiccan practices to Hinduism, or Yoga to Buddhism. Or to get more sophisticated... shouldn't we ask how best to serve God rather than seeking how best we want to serve?
