THE NEW FARCE

He: did you watch the tour of Mr Bush inside the gulf?
She: No, I was really busy to watch his Majesty?
He: you missed a lot! If you only saw him,, a real comedy show.
She: how come???
He: he is a real disgrace for his nation, I don't know how American people allow such idiot to be their president.
She: what happened?
He: for example, in Israel,, he was scolded by his beauty love Condi, she wrote a note "Shut Up" because he was drunk and started to speak recklessly.
She: Oh, what a shame!!! Hmmmm, he always acts like that. You know him.
He: yes, true, he always like that, idiot.
He: what really annoyed me is the great welcome for such criminal in our gulf!!?? This is the real disgrace and real shame!
She: yeah, I watched that on the TV, he was just a clown, but our dear Arabs were as clowns as him.
He: can you imagine such thing.. People in other countries protest against this criminal and his new pirates while our dear Arab and gulf countries welcome him warmly??
She: true, I was really frustrated to watch our dear brothers and sister in Gaza and Palestine suffering and under siege.
He: yeah, Israel didn't allow fuel to enter Gaza and therefore Gaza in complete darkness. Hitler is still alive!
She: not only darkness, the temperature is so low there,, imagine , we are here feeling cold inside our warm houses and with heaters and electricity. So, how about them in such situation and weather??!!!! Besides, sick people and patients inside hospitals are in big risk of losing their lives.
He: I feel helpless and hopeless. Nothing seems going right in this world and life. These leaders of us are such ".....".
She: we don't need to be desperate, they need us to remember and mention. They need to us to work and try to do something, any thing, even speaking and talking.
He: we have been doing this for a long time and never worked.
She: at least, we are doing something and thinking about them unlike others who know nothing and have no care or interest.
He: maybe!!

SAVE PEOPLE OF PALESTINE.........SAVE PEOPLE IN GAZA.

You discredit your whole post when you write something as ridiculous as that. It is well known that Bush does not drink since he is an alcoholic. Even if he was drunk, Condi is a professional would not write something like to the president of the USA (her boss by the way). Are you a teenager?

"every nation has the government that it deserves"!

Agreed, when we are talking about democratically elected governments of course. I think that more than applies to the Palestinians and their suffering which is due to the government that they chose.

Oh Dear!!
No offense,, I didn't mean to be so mean!! I just wrote a fact that I found. HE told that as well, HE found that in newspapers and in different Media,,, we didn't make it up against Mr Bush or Condi. you reminded me again when Mr Bush asked Condi if he can go to bathroom,, he wrote a note for her and that note spread and I found it in many sites!. By the way, I'm not a teenager, so sad!! Huh!

Yeah, you are right! they are now paying for their freedom to choice and for the democracy they decide to take without influence of others. This is the Real Democracy,,, but this reality shocked USA and Israel and for that they decided to punish all Palestinians for following what they want and not following what USA and others want.

HH, Good!! At least you agree about something here !

What is a shame is that an 'adult' would go on spreading stories that HE told her because it must be true because HE said it and HE must be right. You did not repeat a FACT that you found. You repeated a RUMOR. If you had repeated a 'FACT' you would present the evidence of that fact in a link or something. Since that evidence does not exist then you are not reporting a fact. And what does Islam say about gossiping? You should think about that before you make yourself look foolish again.

I have no love for Bush so this has nothing to do with the slander. The post just seemed SO very adolescent (even more so than usual)that I hoped to God that at least you were a teenager as it is scary to see adults give this kind of presentation as if they were speaking with some kind of intelligence. As a matter of fact, I think I'd be hard pressed to find even a drug addicted American teenager that would even consider repeating such ridiculous stories. Even they know that if the President of the USA was drunk and ridiculous he would have a whole bunch of people on him and getting him out of the situation and covering for him as if he were sick.

The Palestinians are not being punished for following what they want. If you think they are being punished it is because they chose 'terrorists' to be their leaders. Had they chosen a respectable international law abiding government then they would have had all the respect of international governments that they want hand outs from. Had they chosen a government that would help it's own people rather than use it's money to buy rockets to bomb innocents then they would not be suffering as they are.

The Palestinians are suffering because they, as many Muslims, have gone astray. They have left the Sunnah of RasoolAllah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

Oh, and one more thing, I find it amusing when 'Muslim leaders' are called terrorists.

I never heard that pig Sharon (may he burn in hell. Ameen) and Bush called terrorists.

Oh the irony.

Mr GQ, really!! But I have never been to your blog,,, I guess!! I'm not sure I have met you before.. do we???. You are doing such a weird job there. What is your problem with Shia'a?? I have to put my opinion about that! Wait for me!

Reality,Oh dear!! You are so mad now,, take it easy. First, HE found information in respectable newspapers and media, so he told me about it. We are humans, we are fallible, me, HE, and even YOU. Even if we assume that was just a rumor, Mr Bush is always acting as a ****!!
Well, thank you for your enlightening and your comments. I liked your comments!!! Really! You put a smile on my face. Good!!!

See!!! You have no right to criticize democracy,,, Palestinians choose what they want and you have to respect that, but no one respect that because what they chose are not beloved by USA nor Israel. Not because they are terrorists as you claim. They are terrorists because they defend themselves, they are terrorists because they have pride and honor. Now, you are not seeing the real reality here. Whatever!!
we know the real truth and why Palestinians are suffering now. Their choice to save their dignity led them to this situation and no one to blame except them. freedom with dying and suffering or welfare with no dignity or pride!!!
If you think they are uneducated fools for defending their rights, and honor, let it be!!!
We are all uneducated fools for having our dignity and honor and not being slave or traitorous.
Count how many Palestinians killed each day comparing to your dear innocents??

No, I'm not 'mad'. I don't have a dog in that fight so I have no reason to be mad. I'm a little dumbfounded that you would post something like you have. You still haven't said what reliable newspaper it was that HE got his information from. But my point was this: Instead of posting this 'conversation' between HE amd SHE, an intelligent post would have been if YOU had read the info yourself - to check what HE said- and then posted it with maybe a link or a cutting from what you read so that your reader could also verify it. Do you understand what I am saying here?

If you did not personally read it then your post appears as adolescent gossip. Then when you defend it and then go on with rubbish about the Palestinians and their starvation because they chose 'democracy'. This goes back to the same issue as the Bush story. You need to get yourself educated. When you read something or are told something, go to other sources and prove what you have heard rather than take it as the gospel truth and spread it further. That issue seems to be one of the biggest problems in the Middle East. People taking gossip as truth because they respect the person that told them it. Your views on Palestine/Israel are a good example of that. Granted, much of what you know may have been taught to you in your textbooks but we have learned that they (if you are in the M.E.)are not necessarily correct. Have you ever read any Israelli accounts of the history? Have you ever read any non-biased historians accounts? Where are you getting your current news from? One source? Many? Go to many and then make up your mind on your own.

Tell me. What was the platform that Hamas ran on to be elected? Did they want to make peace so their people could live peacefully or did they promise to throw Israel into the sea? Did they promise to stop the rocket attacks against their neighbors? Do you really think that they should be allowed the welfare that they were given before under those circumstances? An intelligent, responsible government that cared about it's people would say, leave them (Israel) alone, we have our own problems, we need to deal with so we can eat, keep our babies safe and be prosperous. The rocket attacks are like poking a hornets nest with a stick. Not smart. So why would they do it? How do we know what would happen to the people of Gaza if they would just stop being aggressors? The Palestinians lost the moral high ground in my eyes when they elected these people to govern them. Not that I don't feel the pain of the innocents that suffer,I definitely do, but I put the blame on their government rather than on their government's victims.

"Count how many Palestinians killed each day comparing to your dear innocents??"

That's called losing. So they should give it up so more innocents don't die needlessly. This whold issue is about the losers of a war, that they themselves started (or if you prefer, their arab brothers started for them) not accepting the outcome of that war and making things even worse for themselves.

Reality, you've said:

"That issue seems to be one of the biggest problems in the Middle East. People taking gossip as truth because they respect the person that told them it."

You mean just like how the Americans got down on their knees for Bush after Colin Powell's presentation to the U.N. Security Council on the U.S. case against Iraq and it having WMDs (and it was later proven that he clearly lied)?

I see the irony in your post. Can you?

'I see the irony in your post. Can you?'

No, I don't actually. Maybe you need to look up the meaning of the word irony. Did I mention anything at all about the U.S. Govt and how they went about the war?

Oh, and by the way.'(and it was later proven that he clearly lied)?'

Clearly lied? Or clearly lied TO (by Iraqis of course) and given evidence to support that lie? Do you really know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, which it was? Because there are plenty of Iraqis that were very happy to see a liberating force there regardless of how things may have turned out.

Don't you have some shias to beat up or something?

Reality,

Maybe you need to brush up on your comprehension skills. Where did I say anything about you mentioning the U.S. government and how they went about the war? I don’t recall saying anything about that. Please show me if you can.

Yes he clearly lied. Sure, perhaps he was lied to by the Iraqis, but that does not change that fact that Colin Powell lied. Maybe the U.S. isn’t much different than other regions in the world including the Middle East. One would think that the way the Americans value honesty and morals (maybe it is all lip service), they would at least do their utmost best to ensure whatever it is they say, is the truth – especially when speaking in front of the whole world to make a case for waging war. If you’re going to speak against the Middle East, then also speak against others as well. Don’t single anyone out.

If he had taken the responsibility to go in front of the world and speak, he should have also taken the responsibility to verify whether or not it was the truth.

You’ve said, “Because there are plenty of Iraqis that were very happy to see a liberating force there regardless of how things may have turned out.”

Not really. I do not think that the hundreds of thousands of people that have died from the wonderful carpet bombings by the Americans would have been happy knowing what was about to happen nor do I think the Iraqis who have lost homes, lost parents and children, gang raped, lost limbs are too happy with what has happened.

And the ones you do see the ones on television (oh and ever wonder why they also show people smiling and laughing? Why not show the ones in pain and the dead bodies?) are mostly the Shia’a who wanted this to happen. They did not want Sunnis to run the country. The Shia’a want another Iran.

“Don't you have some shias to beat up or something?”

Unfortunately, they are hiding from me.

You should invest in a good English language dictionary.
When you get it, look up the words 'irony' and 'lie'. Then make sure to use that dictionary before you use the english language.

Oh, and by your standards, you also don't want to single anyone out so you can't speak against the shias without also speaking about the depravity of the catholics, the jews, the b'hais, the buddists, the athiests, the mormons, the jehova's witnesses and all the rest of those heathens. If you want to just stick to hating different sects within Islam that would be ok I guess but there are still quite a few that you'd have to go after. Good luck, lots of research ahead of you.

Hopefully, you'll just realize that life is too short to be wasted on hating any of God's creation. Do something good for someone instead. You gain no favor from God by hating anyone or inciting hatred for anyone.

Interesting how very many discussions turn into a Palestinian issue. Lots of emotion there, no wonder.

I'll address the dispute btwn mr reality and mr gq only by noting very many good points.

"what really annoyed me is the great welcome for such criminal in our gulf" that is called politics. A dirty business. Sometimes our queen must welcome brutal dictators to facilitate some trade deals.

And later you [Noor] write:"they are terrorists because they have pride and honor.(snip) Palestinians are suffering now. Their choice to save their dignity ..."

Yes, honor and pride can make ppl do terrible things. But what would I do ? If I were a PA, would I have my son blow himself up in a bus, or would I teach him to make a living ? I don't know.

Anyway, this honor-business is hard for a Westerner like me to understand. But it's a fact we have to deal with.

Irony: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/irony

It is ironic how you would single out and say something about a group of people while many other groups do the same.

Lie: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/lie

When Colin Powell spoke at the UN meeting, it was a lie. Simple as that. Unless you are saying it was the truth…?

Reading comprehension owns you.

Actually, I CAN single the Shia’a out from the rest. Why? Easy - the Shia’a claim to be Muslims. True that people of other religious faiths slander and mock Islam or its beliefs, they do not claim to be Muslims. The Shia’a on the other hand, claim to be Muslims and still speak against Islam and/or its beliefs.

Oh and hating is a part of Islam. You are to hate evil.

I know I shouldn't....but....
"hating is a part of Islam. You are to hate evil."

That is irony: I bet "evil" is whatever/whoever _you_ disagree with.

And since you are splitting words:"hating is a part of Islam." A religion/belief system is not a person. A person can feel hate, love, fear. joy etc. A set of ideas cannot. If your understanding of Islam makes you hate, so much the pity.

There is a concept of ‘al-Walaa wal Baraa’ in Islam. You love for the sake of Allah and you hate for the sake of Allah. You love whatever Allah loves and hate whatever Allah hates.

I think it is pretty simple.

I think Jesus Christ said it best when he summed it up as thus,

43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies[b] and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:43-45)

Nothing about hate here. Just love, and more love. Who was this radical donkey riding hippy? Did he really teach people how to eat bread and when asked if He was the Son of God... He merely replied, "It is as you said."

Crazy man... crazy.

Hi Tristan,
"God hates the sin, but loves the sinner" it that even in the Bible, or where did I get that ?

2/08/2008 5:04 PM
Blogger Tristan Vick said...

"God hates the sin, but loves the sinner" is a modern Christian adage.

I don't know who first said it, but the idea stems from the Christian concept that God hates sin, but loved mankind enough to save them from it.

Of course in Christianity, this comes in the form of a promise, and the promise fulfilled by a savior. We view Christ as this savior. Without getting heavy on the theological reasons why -it's mainly because he fulfills ALL of the Old Testament Prophecies... which would also fulfill God's promise to man that he would give us a Messiah.

Consider that the odds of a person living in that time period fulfilling even just 6 of the prophecies is 1 out of 1,540. But Jesus fulfilled them all (as far as historians can discern).

But what I'm getting at is the saying "God hates the sin, but loves the sinner" points toward the Christian ideal of love which we believe is something God wants us to accept and follow. Jesus was the teaching example. Because we need guidance, being told to love just isn't enough. It's a nice idea -but if there's no lesson, then it will only remain an idea. But if you look at Jesus Christ's teachings, much of it is 'action based love' i.e. "LOVE IS ACTION."

And I think Christianity is one of the rare examples where loving each other better shows a greater love for God too. And this is why I quoted Jesus, because we don't have to believe He was the Son of God... but what we can't deny, is that He was doing God's work --and Christ's message from God was crystal clear.

Stop hating and start loving was the calling. And that may not be a new concept, Confucius and Aristotle both said similar things 500 years earlier, but Christ improved the idea to 'Do unto others as you'd have done unto you' by adding that we also love our enemies.

Not because Jesus thought it would be nicer, but because God requires us to if we ever want to truly be saved. The way I see it -God was using Jesus to not only tell us about how he wants us to love, but God also used Jesus to show us how to do it! And this can only be found in Christianity.

This is mainly why I profess my own Christianity -not because I think I'm right or better, but because I think it actually works... and as such... it's better than most.

But if it doesn't work for you -that's fine. Find the one faith that does work. Christianity works for me personally, and well, that's answering more than you asked but I hope it helped.

To writer, Noor/or whatever your name,
Its good to see that you believe so firmly in Allah and believe in his deeds, that whatever he does is ultimately for good.
But to ask you just one question. when you talk about Muslims, you generally say our brothers, but do you know anything about atrocities on Hindus in Kashmir in India? Aren;t they your brothers? why can;t the entire humanity be your brothers and sisters and why to chose between people? Atrocities are not welcome by anyone for that reason. But being on someone's side just because that someone is muslim is wrong is what i think.
